Sex Pistols, The Clash, Queen
1960s–1990s
Housed in a former church hall, the Sex Pistols recorded Never Mind the Bollocks here in 1977. The Clash recorded London Calling in 1979. Queen created the famous beat for We Will Rock You here too, having the entire studio staff jump on the stone floor outside to capture the sound. The legendary and beloved studio cleaner, Betty Edwards, worked there for over 25 years and even dressed up as a punk during the Sex Pistols' recordings. One of North London's most significant studios from the punk and new wave era, now converted into residential apartments called "The Recording Studio."
