The cover photo, taken by photographer Kate Simon in 1976, was shot on an external staircase near the band's rehearsal space in Camden's Stables Market on Chalk Farm Road, today known as "The Clash Steps." The cover perfectly captured the energy of the band's debut album. One of the definitive albums in punk history.
