The cover of Waiting for the Sun was photographed in the hills of Tuna Canyon Road, in Topanga, in 1968, by photographer Paul Ferrara, Jim Morrison's college classmate at UCLA. The Doors in a field under the California sun, near the legendary Moon Fire Temple. It is the band's third album and the only one to reach number 1 on the American charts during Jim Morrison's lifetime.
