Jim Morrison, The Doors
1966–1971
The house where Jim Morrison lived in Laurel Canyon. Morrison was fascinated by Los Angeles, by Laurel Canyon and by the mythology of the city. He left for Paris in 1971 and never returned. On July 22, 2018, the City of Los Angeles honored The Doors with the first cultural marker ever given to a band or music, with a pair of plaques in recognition of “Love Street.”
