The Story

The Doors have several famous pictures taken in Venice Beach. Jim Morrison grew up in these streets, and the band found much of its visual identity in the bohemian atmosphere of Venice and Laurel Canyon. Venice Beach is considered a must-see for fans of The Doors. Besides being the birthplace of the band, it is also home to several interesting landmarks, such as the famous Jim Morrison mural at 1811 Speedway, painted in 1991 by Rip Cronk.
