The Doors
1967
Jim Morrison refused to appear on the cover, so photographer Joel Brodsky assembled an impromptu cast of acrobats, a juggler, a taxi driver paid to pose with a trumpet, and a weightlifter to fill Sniffen Court, a hidden Victorian mews courtyard. The cover was inspired by Fellini's 1954 film La Strada.
