The Story

The semi-detached house in Maida Vale where Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious lived with his girlfriend Nancy Spungen in 1978. One of the most turbulent addresses in punk history. The couple's chaotic relationship unfolded here before their move to the Chelsea Hotel in New York, where Nancy was found dead in October 1978. Sid died of a heroin overdose four months later, aged 21. Decades later, the house became known as "London's most dilapidated," spending seven years on the market before finally being sold in 2024.
