The Story
A modern concert hall on Flamengo's waterfront, inaugurated in 2006. The venue is the belated realization of an architectural project by Affonso Eduardo Reidy from the 1950s, originally conceived alongside the Museum of Modern Art, to which the hall is still annexed today. It opened with a show by Gilberto Gil, featuring special guests Maria Rita, Adriana Calcanhoto, and Sandy & Júnior. With a capacity for 4,000 people and Guanabara Bay as its backdrop, Vivo Rio has become one of the city's main medium-sized venues, hosting everything from MPB to rock.
