Unidos da Tijuca
Founded on December 31, 1931, Unidos is the third oldest samba school in Brazil. Four titles in the Special Group, with the three most recent ones all signed by carnival designer Paulo Barros, who arrived at the school in 2004 and revolutionized the visual language of Rio de Janeiro's carnival. The school was the first to parade in the newly inaugurated Sambadrome in 1984. The headquarters are in the Santo Cristo neighborhood, where the school has been since 1988. The original address in Morro do Borel was abandoned.
