Quadra da Viradouro

The Story

Founded on June 24, 1946, in Niterói by Nelson dos Santos, who hosted samba circles in his backyard in the Viradouro neighborhood. It paraded in Niterói for almost four decades, winning 18 local titles before crossing Guanabara Bay to the Special Group of Rio in 1991, where it would win three titles over the following decades (1997, 2020, and 2024). The quadra (headquarters) is located in Niterói, in the Barreto neighborhood.
