Imperatriz Leopoldinense

Founded in 1959, the Imperatriz, known as the Rainha de Ramos, is the school that produced carnavalesco Paulo Barros, responsible for some of the most inventive floats in carnival history. The school won six times and is credited with turning the technical craft of carnival design into an art form discussed in the press throughout the year.
