PJ Harvey spent prolonged periods in New York in the late 1990s, and the cover shows her posing in sunglasses on a neon-lit street at night. The photo, taken by photographer Maria Mochnacz, was shot on 7th Avenue at 46th Street, in the heart of Times Square.
