The Story
It was in the basement of a cinema on Cherokee Ave that Scottish promoter Brendan Mullen transformed this iconic venue into a rehearsal and concert club in 1977. The Germs, X, The Weirdos, and The Bags all played here before any of them had recorded an album. It lasted two years, between closures and re-openings, and defined the sound and attitude of Los Angeles punk.
