The Story

The former KCMU, the first radio station to play Nirvana and Soundgarden in the late 1980s, when no commercial station would go near them. Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman were both DJs here. It was a conversation between them in the studio that started the partnership that became Sub Pop. Now at Seattle Center with a glass-walled studio open to visitors.
