The Story

A small park at the foot of the Young Street Bridge over the Wishkah River in Aberdeen. The bridge was one of Kurt's preferred refuges as a teenager. He claimed to have lived under it for a time. The park has a guitar sculpture, song's lyrics, and fan graffiti under the bridge itself. Aberdeen resisted honoring Cobain for years. The city council applauded a motion not to rename the bridge after him as recently as 2011.
