Kurt Cobain Childhood Home

Nirvana

The Story

This is the house in Aberdeen where Kurt Cobain spent his childhood and adolescence, living here from 1968 to 1984. It became a Washington State Historic Landmark in 2021, with plans for a museum. Today it is a private residence. The city's welcome sign quotes "Come As You Are". It took Aberdeen decades to recognize its most famous son. When Nevermind was released in 1991, there was no celebration.
