Jimi Hendrix Haight St

The Story

This is the address where Jimi Hendrix lived for a short period during the Summer of Love. He died in London in September 1970, sixteen days before Janis Joplin, both at 27 years old and both having lived on this same block in Haight-Ashbury a few years prior. The concentration of talent that passed through these few streets in the 1960s is almost unbelievable. Today it is a private residence, but it features a mural of Jimi on the side of the building.
