The Story

Opened in 1940 with a Tommy Dorsey show (and a young Frank Sinatra as vocalist), the Palladium was one of Hollywood's most glamorous venues in the 1940s and 1950s. Frank Sinatra and Doris Day performed there regularly during that era, and starting in 1961 the venue also became home to The Lawrence Welk Show. It later hosted Nirvana, Radiohead, and Depeche Mode.
