The Story

Blue plaque at the address where Frédéric Chopin stayed during his final visit to London in 1848, fleeing the revolutionary unrest in Paris. Gravely ill with tuberculosis, he gave his last public performance at London's Guildhall in November 1848 for Polish exiles. He died the following year in Paris aged 39.
