The multi-purpose arena, inaugurated in 2007 at the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Park for the Pan American Games, has a capacity for 18,000 people. It has been called HSBC Arena, RioArena, Jeunesse Arena, and since 2024, it is known as Farmasi Arena. It hosted the 2016 Olympics for artistic, rhythmic, and trampoline gymnastics. In music, it has welcomed Beyoncé, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Amy Winehouse in one of her last shows in January 2011, Kiss, Scorpions, Muse, and Bob Dylan. In 2011, Amy Winehouse was booed and left the stage after a few minutes. Six months later, she died in London.
