The intersection immortalized by Dee Dee Ramone's song 53rd & 3rd from the Ramones' 1976 debut album. Dee Dee described the corner as a notorious for male prostitution and as autobiographical. Today the Citigroup Center and a TD Bank occupy the site. Dee Dee himself reportedly confirmed the song's personal nature in a late-1980s interview.
