The Story

Pub in Stratford where Iron Maiden played several gigs between 1976 and 1978. The venue proudly uses the slogan "The Birthplace of Iron Maiden". Steve Harris played here in 1973 with his first band, Gypsy's Kiss, before forming Iron Maiden on Christmas 1975 and debuting the new band at the same pub. The only original member from that era still in the band is Steve Harris himself. Guitarist Dave Murray, who also joined shortly after, played his first show with Maiden right here in December 1976. Still open and active as a pub with live music and Iron Maiden's Trooper beer on tap.
