The Story

This studio opened in 2002 in Salford, founded by Tim Thomas, Ian Stewart, and Gary Hadfield. It's where Elbow recorded the albums Leaders of the Free World, The Seldom Seen Kid, winner of the Mercury Prize in 2008, and Build a Rocket Boys!. The main room, named The Big Room, has a capacity of 250 people, also functioning as an intimate concert venue. Justin Timberlake, Paul Heaton, Smokey Robinson, Snoop Dogg, and Johnny Marr have also recorded or rehearsed here, among many other names. From the beginning, the founders made a point of focusing on new bands, offering a service that made artists want to return. Still active.
