The Story

Strawberry Studios, located in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is historically significant for decentralizing the British music industry. Founded in the late 1960s, it was the first international-standard studio outside London, becoming the creative center for 10cc and the originator of the iconic "Manchester sound." Strawberry was crucial in shaping the city’s and the UK's post-punk scene. The studio's acoustics and cutting-edge technology recorded incredible albums like Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. The Smiths and The Stone Roses also recorded here.
