The Story

Strawberry Studios, located in Stockport, Greater Manchester, is historically significant for decentralizing the British music industry. Founded in the late 1960s, it was the first international-standard studio outside London, becoming the creative center for 10cc and the creator of the iconic "Manchester sound." Strawberry was crucial in shaping the post-punk scene in the city and the UK. The studio's acoustics and cutting-edge technology recorded incredible albums such as Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures. The Smiths and The Stone Roses also recorded there.
