The Story

The 52nd Street album cover was photographed on West 52nd Street in Midtown. In the 1940s and 50s, the street was the center of jazz in New York, with clubs like Birdland, Three Deuces, and Onyx Club operating side by side. Today, the building's facade has been modified, and the spot where Billy Joel was leaning is on the right side of the BNP Paribas entrance.
