The strange cover of Odelay, featuring a Komondor dog jumping over an obstacle, was chosen by Beck and the Beastie Boys after they found the photo in a dog book. The album was recorded in Los Angeles and is considered one of the best of the 1990s. The photo was taken by Joan Ludwig for the American Kennel Club GAZETTE magazine some time between March and July of 1976 at a dog show in California.
