The Story

Since 1980, Roberto Carlos has lived in the triplex penthouse of the Golden Bay Building, facing Guanabara Bay and Christ the Redeemer, in a five-story building in Urca. The singer also owns another apartment in the same building, where his mother, Dona Laura, lived until her death in 2010. Averse to ostentation and public life, Roberto Carlos rarely appears on the balcony, reserving the gesture for April 19, the singer's birthday, when he waves to fans who gather in front of the building every year. It is also in Urca, just a few minutes from his home, that he maintains his recording studio.
