The Story

Founded by The Beatles' producer, Sir George Martin, in 1965. The current headquarters at Lyndhurst Hall in Hampstead is a converted church built in 1884 by architect Alfred Waterhouse, who also designed the Natural History Museum. It opened in 1992 and is known for its exceptional acoustics, which can accommodate a full symphony orchestra and a choir simultaneously. Paul McCartney has recorded and visited the venue, and dozens of Oscar-winning or Oscar-nominated soundtracks have been recorded there, including Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Atonement, and The Grand Budapest Hotel.
