Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie
Est. 1936
An open-air Greek-style amphitheater built for the 1936 Berlin Olympics, seating 22000, surrounded by forest near the Olympic Stadium. Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and David Bowie have all performed here. The venue has a tradition unique in rock. When the headliner finishes, the audience lights lighters and candles and the entire bowl glows in the dark for several minutes. A sight that has been replicated at no other venue in the world. Still active every summer.
