Cassiopeia

The Story

This club opened in 2005 inside an old industrial warehouse in the RAW-Gelände. The lineup mixes hardcore, punk, metal, hip-hop, reggae, and drum'n'bass, and the club annually hosts the Berlin Hardcore Festival, one of the biggest gatherings of the genre in Germany. In 2016, the Cassiopeia came into the sights of an eviction plan by the group that owns the land, with a deadline given until the end of June to vacate the space. After protests, a resolution from the local council, and political pressure, negotiations between the group and the district resumed in July, and the club continued to operate normally.
