The Story

A century-old theatre on Nollendorfplatz that has been, at various times, a drama stage, a silent cinema, a jazz club and Germany's most fashionable disco. Marlene Dietrich performed here in the Weimar years. Bowie and Nina Hagen played here in the 1980s. Einstürzende Neubauten also performed on this stage. The building's ornate Art Nouveau exterior has survived every change of use.
