U2 Achtung Baby Olympic Stadium

The Story

This stadium was built to host the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. It was in the parking lot with the towers in the background that Anton Corbijn photographed U2 inside a Trabant, the iconic car of East Germany. This photo was used on the back cover and inner sleeve of Achtung Baby. The complex remains active, today serving as the home of the Hertha BSC football team and hosting major sporting events, including the World Cup and the Champions League.
