Known as "Hansa by the Wall," this recording complex is located 150 meters from the former Berlin Wall. Bowie recorded Low and Heroes here with Brian Eno, with Robert Fripp joining on guitar for Heroes. The story goes that he saw two lovers meeting near the Wall from the studio window and wrote Heroes. One of the lovers was the album's producer, Tony Visconti. U2 began recording their classic Achtung Baby here in 1990. Depeche Mode recorded Some Great Reward here in 1984. Nick Cave recorded four Bad Seeds albums here. Guided tours are available.
