The Story
Bowie lived here from 1976 to 1978. Iggy Pop shared the apartment at first, before moving to a room in the back building. Bowie cycled around the city, read German newspapers, spoke basic German, and went almost unnoticed. A city that didn't care about rock stars was exactly what he needed. An official commemorative plaque was unveiled in 2016.
