Bowie lived here from 1976 to 1978. Iggy Pop initially shared the apartment before moving to a room in the back building. Bowie rode the subway, read German newspapers, spoke basic German, and went almost unnoticed. A city that didn't care about rock stars was exactly what he needed. An official commemorative plaque was unveiled in 2018.
