David Bowie, Iggy Pop
1977
Known as Anderes Ufer when Bowie and Iggy were regulars, this was Germany's first openly gay and lesbian bar, with no doorbell, no heavy curtains—a deliberate policy of openness. Bowie and Iggy had breakfast here in the mornings and drank in the evenings. Today called Neues Ufer, the walls are covered with photographs of Bowie. The Blackstar album cover adorns the facade. Still in operation.
