This masterpiece revolutionized musical theater, blending cabaret, jazz, and social criticism. In 1954, the theater became the permanent home of Bertolt Brecht's world-famous theater company. Its musical legacy continues today with directors like Robert Wilson crafting productions to music by contemporary artists like Rufus Wainwright and Lou Reed.
