The Pier Head Beatles Statue

The Story

A bronze statue of the four Beatles on the banks of the River Mersey, unveiled on December 4, 2015, and sculpted by Andy Edwards. The idea was born when producer Chris Butler saw a giant image of the band in a shop window in Liverpool and decided to recreate it in three dimensions, based on a real photo of the Beatles taken at Pier Head itself in 1963. The project was entirely funded and donated to the city by the Cavern Club.
