The Beatles
· 1900s
A grand Victorian pub built in 1900 and frequented by The Beatles and by every generation of Liverpool musicians since. Its ornate interior is Grade II listed, and its men's lavatories, decorated with mosaic and marble, are among the most elaborate in England. Women can request entry to the gents outside busy hours. John Lennon reportedly said the hardest thing about being famous was not being able to drink here in peace.
