The classic Blood Sugar Sex Magik by the Red Hot Chili Peppers was recorded in this famous mansion in Laurel Canyon. The album photos were also taken here. Producer Rick Rubin rented the house for the band to live and record at the same time. The mansion has a reputation for being haunted. The album Stadium Arcadium was also recorded here, in addition to works by Audioslave, Slipknot, System of a Down, The Mars Volta, Jay-Z, and Linkin Park.
