The Story

This Victorian pub on the corner of Castlehaven Road and Hawley Crescent was Amy Winehouse's favorite spot in Camden. She drank there, sang there, and often hopped behind the bar to serve draught beer to customers, even though she didn't officially work there. Tim Burgess of The Charlatans recounted seeing grown men cry after being served by her at the bar. In February 2008, a fire destroyed part of the building, and Amy helped raise funds for its reconstruction. The pub reopened and remains practically identical, with walls covered in photos, concert posters, and old setlists. Across the street, in Camden Market, stands Amy's bronze statue, where fans still leave flowers.
