The Apple Boutique Baker Street

The Beatles

· 1967–1968

The Story

The store the Beatles opened in December 1967 as part of Apple Corps was decorated with a 6-story psychedelic mural on its facade. Westminster City Council ordered the mural's removal within a few months. The store closed in July 1968. The Beatles simply opened the doors and let customers take everything for free one day. Today, there's a commemorative plaque marking the site as historical.
