The Story

This venue was born in 1980 as a circus tent in Potsdamer Platz, funded by nurse Irene Moessinger with an inheritance from her father. Still itinerant, the tent hosted Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds several times throughout the 90s, including a 1992 show, already with Blixa Bargeld on guitar for the band. The structure gained a fixed address in Kreuzberg in December 2001. Kraftwerk played there on March 25, 2004, one among several names that have graced the venue over the years, such as Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, and Hayley Williams. It remains active today, one of Berlin's main stages.
