T-Bone Açougue Musical

Milton Nascimento, Erasmo Carlos, Fagner, Elba Ramalho, Lenine, Ivan Lins, Tom Zé

1994

The Story

This project was born out of a nearly bankrupt butcher shop called Triângulo e Damasco, bought by Luiz Amorim in 1994 and immediately renamed T-Bone. Luiz Amorim opened a shelf with ten books amidst the cuts of meat, offered free of charge to customers. Today, the collection has thousands of titles. Ten years later, in 2004, the T-Bone Cultural Nights were born – free open-air concerts that transformed the block between 312/313 North into one of Brasília's strongest cultural symbols, bringing together names such as Milton Nascimento, Erasmo Carlos, Fagner, Elba Ramalho, Lenine, Ivan Lins, and Tom Zé. What began as a bookshelf in a butcher shop has become one of the city's largest free and democratic music and cultural events.
