The Story

Brasília's main indoor arena and one of the most important concert venues in the Federal District, inaugurated in 1973 as Ginásio de Esportes Presidente Médici, only acquiring its current name in 1987 in honor of a sports journalist. For decades, it hosted major national and international rock, pop, and MPB concerts, including a historic performance by the Jackson 5 in 1974, with a young Michael Jackson still a child. Listed on the official Rock Route.
