Studio SP / Augusta Hi-Fi

The Story

This concert venue opened in 2005 in Baixo Augusta and became one of the birthplaces of São Paulo's new music scene in the 2000s, until closing in May 2013. It was here that Criolo sang for the first time and also hosted Emicida at the beginning of his career, in addition to CSS's first shows before they became a Brazilian music phenomenon. The dressing room functioned almost as an informal headquarters for the scene, and it was there that the carnival block Acadêmicos do Baixo Augusta was born. The farewell show, in May 2013, brought together Criolo, Tulipa Ruiz, and Emicida. After eight years closed, Studio SP reopened in November 2021 at the same address, with a show by Céu, in a project that was initially temporary, in partnership with Heineken. The experience was extended until the beginning of 2023, when the space closed again and reopened under a new concept, now named Augusta Hi-Fi, which remains active at the same address and is remembered in concert announcements as "former Studio SP."
