Cultural Center

Inaugurated in 1950, the Teatro Cultura Artística was São Paulo's most important concert hall for over half a century. Home to jazz recitals, MPB milestones, and classical performances that defined the city's cultural life. It was destroyed by fire on 17 October 2008. The blaze, which started in a storage room, consumed the building in under two hours. The reconstruction took fifteen years. The new theatre reopened in 2023 on the same address.
