Sala Cássia Eller Funarte

The Story

This is Funarte's performance space on the Eixo Monumental, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and inaugurated in 1977 as Sala Funarte. Aborto Elétrico performed here in 1981. In 2003, the hall was renamed in honor of Cássia Eller, one of the great voices of Brazilian rock who began her career performing in Brasília's bars. Cássia Eller's connection with Brasília is central to her story.
