Cena musical paulistana
1980s
A stretch of Teodoro Sampaio Street in Pinheiros features over 30 musical instrument stores side-by-side, forming the largest concentration of this type of commerce in Latin America. The circuit began to form in the 1980s and consolidated in the following decade, mixing traditional stores, luthiers, rehearsal studios, and music schools. Generations of São Paulo musicians, from amateurs to professionals, bought their first instrument here, and the street remains a must-visit for anyone who plays music in São Paulo.
