Largo da Batata

The Story

The Largo da Batata region has an old connection with São Paulo's alternative music scene. In the 1980s and 90s, Rua Miguel Isasa, right there in the square, housed AeroAnta, one of the most important venues in the city's underground circuit. The Z-Largo da Batata bar still carries on this legacy, with musical curation focused on the independent scene. The square itself underwent a major renovation in 2010, as part of the region's urban requalification works, and has become one of Pinheiros' busiest hotspots, bringing together bars, historic pubs, and nightclubs that have taken turns there over the decades.
