The Story

The bar in Kreuzberg/Schöneberg where Blixa Bargeld worked as a bartender in the early 80s and which became the hotspot of West Berlin's alternative scene. With no closing time and too much free alcohol, until they went broke, Risiko gathered punks, artists, and bohemians of all kinds. It was there that Wim Wenders met Nick Cave and invited him to the film Wings of Desire. Jim Jarmusch, Alan Vega, and Christiane F. were also regulars. It closed for good in April 1986. Unfortunately, it no longer exists.
